Abstract: In this article, by analyzing the film «Aldar Kose» («The Beardless Deceiver», 1965), the authors prove the direct contribution of cinematographer Mark Berkovich to the development of Kazakh cinema. It is discovered that his joint work with film director Shaken Aimanov enriched the national cinema with visual and artistic solutions that contributed to the formation of its unique style and cultural identity. We study how important components such as light, angle, color, and so on are for working with a camera. The direct contribution of the Kazakh cinematographer Mark Berkovich to the development of Kazakh cinema is clarified.
